Connecting the Sony SBH52 bluetooth with Sony Xperia Z1

The Sony SBH2 bluetooth is a smart device by Sony. As more and more tablet 3G and 4G devices get sold in the market it becomes difficult to use their tablets as a hand held phone since its quite uncomfortable to hold it up to the ears. Sony thus created this Smart bluetooth handset (SBH2) to allow users to use their tablets and phablets together with the Sony SBH52 bluetooth wireless device.

At Expansys Hong Kong, we have unbox the device together with Sony Xperia Z1 to actually test the device in action in terms of comfort and usability.

After removing device from package simply turn it on and the bluetooth frequency display will be shown.

We placed the Sony SBH2 to touch the back of the Sony Xperia Z1 to connect.

To access Bluetooth pairing on the Sony Xperia Z1 simply switch on the SBH52 until you see the bluetooth symbol. And on the Sony Xperia Z1 settings clicked  bluetooth, to show the list of devices in the scan icon.

SBH52 is visibly displayed in the list of bluetooth then clicked to pair.

The process is fairly straight forward and quick to setup.

Using HTC One X together with HTC Media Link DG H100

HTC One X + Media Link

A few customers have been inquiring as to how they can get their Media Link working with the HTC One X. Here is a quick fix that should work:

The steps there are a little backwards, though, and won't work if you follow HTC's instructions exactly. Try using these instructions instead:

1. Download the HTC Media Link ROM Update for HTC Desire HD (
2. Hold the power button on the Media Link and then plug it into your PC using the included USB cable. After 2-3 seconds, it should start flashing orange and green.
3. Open the Media Link ROM Update executable file.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen until the Media Link has been updated to ROM version
5. Plug in Media Link to TV and use as normal.
